• meaning

The meaning of the song is that the person don't want to be indoors alone he wants to be with someone but not treated like someone else he only wants to be treated as himself. The song is trying to tell people to be themselves when they are with someone and not let them control who you are. Another meaning is that the main person in the band is telling a story of a person he knows that is going thought this and he is trying to help them. 

• imagery,

Person is in a relationship and it is going bad for him and he wants out but on the other hand don't want to be alone. The song also makes me think the person is hiding away his true self because he is scared of showing his true self so he is always hiding away.

• narrative,

Person is in a reltationship and it is going bad for him and he wants out but can't push themselves to get out because they don't want to be alone after they leave them. They feel trapped and can't find their way out so they try and do things and try and not put them selves down and feel like nothing.
